A BIT ABOUT US

Our forefather, Shri Babu Baleshwar Prasad established the Belvedere Printing Works in 1876. Though it finally was registered in 1901.

Our humble beginnings were with that of the "Belvedere Steam Press"; and at that time we were the only printing press in Allahabad other than the Indian Press.

The press was established in the year 1876 by the Late Babu Baleshwar Prasad (died: 25 / 01 / 1920). Thereafter the press went into the hands of his son Babu Madan Mohan (died: August 1934). The ownership transferred to the hands of sons of Babu Madan Mohan, namely Bhakt Ratan (died 1983) and Bhakt Sajjan (died: 3/8/1979).

A family partition on 7 December 1948 caused the independent ownership of the press to pass into the hands of Bhakt Sajjan, until his untimely death in 1979. Thereafter it was being looked after by 2 of the 3 sons of Bhakt Sajjan, namely Satya Mohan (died: 11 Oct 1979) and Sheel Mohan.

After the sudden demise of the two pillars of the family in quick succession, the press was being looked after by Sheel Mohan and Dharam Mohan (the surviving sons of Bhakt Sajjan), w/o Late Bhakt Sajjan Smt. Krishna Kumari (died: 13 July 2004) and Smt. Pushpa Mohan (w/o Late Satya Mohan).

On 30 March 1988 another family partition transferred the ownership to Smt. Pushpa Mohan and Mr. Anupam Agarwal (s/o Late Satya Mohan). Currently Late Mr. Anupam Agarwal(died:2 October 2020) is the proprietor of the Belvedere Printing Works.
